PURPOSE: A switched reluctance sensorless drive system based on a basic magnetic flux interlinkage method is provided to improve efficiency of a sensorless drive system by estimating the position and speed of a rotor only by using a turn-off angle and by assigning an arbitrary turn-on angle. CONSTITUTION: A proportional plus integral action (PI) speed controller (120) controls the speed of a rotor by proportionally integrating the speed of the rotor. A current controller (140) controls current according the turn-on angle, turn-off angle, and position of the rotor based on a hysteresis control. A power converter (150) drives a switched reluctance motor (SRM) according to the current which is controlled by the current controller. An off-angle position extraction unit (160) calculates a magnetic flux value which has the maximum value at an off-angle position according the phase current and the phase voltage which drive the SRM. A timing and turn-off angle determining unit (170) determines the timing and turn-off angle corresponding to the position of an off-angle which is extracted from the off-angle position extraction unit.
