A METHOD FOR PREPARING ANTHRACITE-BASED POWDERED ACTIVATED CARBON WITH HIGH SPECIFIC SURFACE AREA FROM ANTHRACITES

PURPOSE: A direct manufacturing method of high specific surface area of anthracite coal powdered activated carbon is provided to increase specific surface area of activated carbon. CONSTITUTION: A direct manufacturing method of high specific surface area of anthracite coal powdered activated carbon comprises the steps of: pulverizing free lead original coal to 80-30 mesh; removing impurities by heat-treating the pulverized material under a pure N2 atmosphere at 760 deg C for 1 hour; heating the outcome up to 860 deg C; carbonizing the result by keeping the temperature for 1 hour; cooling the resu adding KOH saturated aqueous solution to the product and heating again up to 380 deg C; dipping the product at the same temperature for 30 minutes then heating up to 762 deg C; forming intercalation compounds by keeping the temperature for 30 minutes; activating the outcome by heating at 950 deg C for 2 hours; and washing the result with distilled water or deionized water until the washing water of the cooled water reaches pH=7.0.
