Porous Activated Carbon from Black Liquor and Method of Preparating the Same

PURPOSE: A manufacturing method of porous activated carbon is provided to commercialize the porous activated carbon by a simplified process, and to obtain the porous activated carbon with the high specific surface area from only the black solution generated in the paper manufacturing process. CONSTITUTION: A manufacturing method of porous activated carbon comprises the following steps: a step of forming precipitates by adding acid into a black solution; a step of extracting lignin by neutralizing the precipitates and drying; a step of obtaining carbonized lignin by heat-treating the dried lignin; and a step of manufacturing the porous activated carbon by injecting steam to the carbonized lignin. The pH of the black solution is controlled 2 after the addition of acid.
