PURPOSE: An apparatus for analyzing emotion through emotion word extraction from text and a method thereof, and a recording medium where a program to execute the method in a computer is recorded are provided to extract the emotion word of the text and analyzing emotion and dominant emotion of the text, by using database which analyzes the emotion word of the text on a two-dimension. CONSTITUTION: An emotion word extraction part (110) extracts emotion word from text according to the reference. An emotion dimension space mapping part (120) separates the emotion word into pleasant-unpleasant and activation-deactivation dimension, and maps the emotion word into a numerical value on the emotion dimension space. An emotion word model mapping part (130) maps the value of the emotion dimension space to an emotion circular model where basic emotions are established. An emotion selection part (140) selects a basic emotion located closest to the emotion word mapped on the emotion circular model among the basic emotions as a specific emotion state of the text.
