PURPOSE: Microbacterium oxydans which decomposes laminarin and alginic acid is provided to produce reducing sugar such as glucose from laminarin and alginic acid which are byproducts from a fucoxanthin extracting process, and to protect environment. CONSTITUTION: Microbacterium oxydans FS4(deposit number KACC91657P) decomposes laminarin and alginic acid. The strain has 16S-rDNA of sequence number 3.
