An optical research device (10) configured to at least partially be placed in a cloudy environment, said optical research device comprising a barrel portion (21) configured to be placed in a cloudy environment, said barrel portion (21) comprises a tip portion (22) configured to be a front portion during placement in a cloudy environment in which at least one light source device configured to emit a broadband beam (11) Oh light is provided in the region of the section of the barrel (21), made with the possibility of placement in a muddy environment, and the beam (11) of broadband light contains various bands (2a, 2b ..., 2n) of wavelengths that are modulated in different ways; and at least one photodetector (27a, 27b, 27c) for detecting broadband light is provided in an area configured to place a portion (21) of the barrel in the muddy environment.
