1. A method for directly compensating for aliasing in the time domain in an encoded signal received in a bitstream in a decoder, comprising the steps of: receiving in the bitstream in a decoder from an encoder additional information regarding correction of aliasing in a time domain in an encoded signal; compensate for the overlap of spectra in the time domain in the encoded signal in the decoder in response to additional information. The method of claim 1, used in transitions between a frame using a rectangular non-overlapping window and a frame using a non-rectangular overlapping window. A method according to claim 1, wherein the additional information is a direct spectrum overlap compensation (FAC) correction signal. The method of claim 3, wherein the FAC correction signal is a window-weighted or window-weighted and minimized FAC correction signal. The method of claim 3, wherein the FAC correction signal is transform encoded using transform to encode a frame using a non-rectangular overlapping window. The method of claim 3, wherein the FAC correction signal refers to a synthesized signal from a Code Line Excited Linear Prediction (CELP) frame, when the FAC correction signal is intended to transition from a CELP frame to a transform encoded frame. The method of claim 6, wherein the FAC correction signal relates to a difference signal based on the difference between the signal to be encoded and the synthesized signal combined with the response in the absence of an input synthesizing filter signal.
