A device for the treatment of ophthalmic pathology, comprising: means (2) for generating a high intensity ultrasound beam focused on the eye, a control unit (3) connected to means for generating a focused high intensity ultrasound beam, wherein the control unit (3) is made with the ability to control the duration and frequency of a focused ultrasound beam of high intensity generated by these means, and the pulse duration is from about 3 to 6 s, and the hour ota is from about 19 to 23 MGts.2. The device according to claim 1, in which the control unit (3) is further configured to control the power of a focused high-intensity ultrasound beam generated by these means, the power being from about 1 to 5 acoustic watts. 3. The device according to claim 2, in which the power is preferably about 2 acoustic watts. The apparatus of claim 1, wherein the frequency is preferably about 21 MHz. The device according to claim 1, in which the duration is about 3 s. The device according to claim 1, additionally containing at least one eye ring (1), the proximal end of the ring (1) being adapted to be applied to the eyeball, and said means (2) are mounted on the far end of the eye ring (1) .7 . The device according to claim 1, in which the means for generating a focused ultrasound beam of high intensity include at least two piezoelectric elements sequentially activated by the control unit.
