METHOD FOR CHOOSING DENTAL BUR FOR FINISH POLISHING OF DENTINE SURFACE IN TREATING CARIES

FIELD: medicine.;SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely dentistry, and may be used for choosing a dental bur for finish polishing of a dentine surface in treating caries. The teeth therapeutically extracted are used to make polished sections. An examined bur is used to treat a dentine surface of the polished section. The treated surface is etched in orthophosphoric acid. The washed and dried surface is coated with 2% methylene blue. A colour density is used to assess the etching quality. The colour density is shown by an area of the coloured etched surface. A colour level is evaluated by the 17-point polygraph scale. The entire scale is accepted as 100%. Thereafter a bur corresponding to the treated dentine surface with maximum colour density - for burs with diamond abrasive particles 74.43 to 76.37%, and for tungsten carbide burs 68.84 to 70.36%, is chosen. A coarse bur with diamond abrasive particles of abrasive grit 0.125-0.149 or a hard-alloy hexagonal fissure bur with a plane tungsten carbide burs is chosen.;EFFECT: method enables optimising a choice of the dental bur for finish polishing of the prepared dentine surface ensured by visual and quantitative colour analysis of the etched dentine surface.
