FIELD: machine building.;SUBSTANCE: method involves a common external combustion chamber, two piston expansion machines, a linear electric generator and a control system; according to the invention, control system of power module follows up current values of speed and acceleration of a piston group, pressure of combustion products in the combustion chamber and the working cavity; pressure of air compressed in the compressor cavity of each expansion machine of the power module, in compliance with those values determines the time moment of opening of a bypass valve providing maximum expansion of combustion products in the working cavity to the time moment of arrival of the piston group to the opposite extreme movement point and supplies the command for opening of a bypass valve, as a result of which the air compressed in the compression cavity flows to another compression cavity of the same expansion machine.;EFFECT: improving the efficiency of combustion products expansion process.;3 dwg
