The apparatus (1) has a control unit (21), which is provided with a computer memory (11), in which a machine communications software is stored for communicating with the control unit, where another computer memory (15) stores an application software for communication with a user. A database system (13) is provided for managing data of a quality control system (2). A data line (12) is provided between former computer memory and the database system, and another data line (14) is provided between latter computer memory and the database system. Independent claims are included for the following: (1) a textile quality control system for use with a spinning or winding machine; and (2) a method for monitoring and controlling a textile quality control system.
