The unit has a holding unit comprising projections (2a, 2b) formed at a front side and a rear side (1c) of the securing unit. A projecting pin (3) is arranged at an upper side of the securing unit, where the holding unit is provided for holding the securing unit in a magazine shaft of a firearm. An optical device (10) has an optical element (13) e.g. passive reflector or prism, where an end (11) of the optical device is inserted into a cartridge chamber of the firearm. Another end (15) of the optical device is optically connected with the former end for seeing a barrel of the firearm.
