The installation has a cable, and a set of cabins (3-5) with a set of grips (6). A station is arranged with displacement devices for displacement of the cabins in the station. A launching and braking device is arranged with mechanical devices. An operation of the cabins is allowed in a continuous mode or non-continuous mode. A set of mechanical devise is arranged in the displacement devices. The set of grips is arranged to enter and leave the cable in the continuous mode and is allowed to remain fixed at the cable in the two modes.
