A method for designing a superconducting high field - compact magnet for clinical - magnetic resonance imaging, wherein the magnet is a substantially homogeneous magnetic field within a examination volume, the method comprises the steps of:a) defining a coil chamber for the magnet;b) defining a superconducting coils block region within the coil chamber;c) defining a condition for the balancing of the windings for bobbins within the coils block;d) defining a geometric extent of the examination volume;e) defining a magnetic field strength within the examination volume;f) defining a tolerable field homogeneity within the examination volume;g) defining a stray field limiting;h) constraining a magnet field tip within the coils;i) limiting a voltage value within the coils;j) of the coil chamber divided into a first and second subspace, which are parallel to one another around a first and a second, radially adjacent to define coil layer;k) calculating a preliminary design for coils within the first and second coil layer;l) comparing..
