The surgical device for spreading of the bone lamellae (5, 6) of a split alveolar crest with an expanding element (9), which includes two mutually opposite contact surfaces (10, 11) for the inner sides of the bone lamellae (5, 6) and a retaining projection (18) on its upper side (14), and with a manipulation instrument (19) for placement of the expanding element (9), with a unilaterally open receiving chamber (23) for the retaining projection (18), into which the retaining projection (18), which manipulation instrument (19) of a clamping device for the detachable connection of the manipulation instrument (19) and of the holding projection (18) of the expanding element (9), characterized in that the retaining projection (18) is constructed spherically the fact that, on the manipulation instrument (19) a spring-loaded pivot lever (26) is mounted, one end of which forms a gripping surface (32) and the other end as a clamping jaws (25) of the clamping device to the retaining projection (18) is applied, and thereby with respect to the manipulation instrument (19), and that in the clamping jaws (25) or in a this opposite side wall (24) of the receiving chamber (23) a recess or opening (31) is arranged, in which the retaining projection (18) dips partially, so that the retaining projection (18) as a result, in the fixed state against a lateral displacement relative to the opening (31) is secured.
