Method for e.g. calibrating multi-port measuring support part e.g. radio frequency measuring base, in laboratory, involves determining sign of calibration parameter based on mechanical length of conductor of support part
The method involves determining a sign of a calibration parameter based on mechanical length of a conductor of a measuring support part (4) that do not use a through-connection and/or thru standard between terminal ports (1.1, 1.2). Relevant radio frequency (RF) properties of the measuring support part are measured according to 16-term error model, which is based on a specified mathematically formulated equation. The measuring support part is calibrated and/or characterized using a match standard (2), an open standard (3) and/or a short standard. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a computer program comprising a set of instructions to execute a method for calibrating and/or characterizing a multi-port measuring support part (2) a computer program product comprising a set of instructions to execute a method for calibrating and/or characterizing a multi-port measuring support part (3) a data carrier comprising a set of instructions to execute a method for calibrating and/or characterizing a multi-port measuring support part (4) a hardware component for calibrating and/or characterizing a multi-port measuring support part (5) a device for calibrating and/or characterizing a multi-port measuring support part.
