The method involves providing an ornament body which has a desired non-planar surface contour. The ornament body is brought in contact to a molding tool which is adapted partially to the surface contour of the ornament body. The molding tool is placed in an ultrasonic vibration, where an indentation is formed in the ornament body to make an immersion. A prefabricated decorative element is inserted into the immersion to decorate the ornament body. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a molding tool for carrying out ultrasonic drilling; and (2) a method for producing a molding tool.
