The photovoltaic thermal (PVT) collector (10,12) has a radiation-side transparent element (14,32), and solar cells (16) extended along the transparent element. The transparent element (20) is located along the rear side of solar cell. A downstream heat exchanger (22,24,40) is provided for transferring heat to fluid leading element. The back contact of solar cell is equipped with a semitransparent portion (18) that is provided between the elements (14,20) or between the element (20) and the heat exchanger (22), and the thermal and electrical insulator is provided.
