The electrode (9) has an outer surface (21) comprising a set of apertures in form of a slot, a hole, a recess (23) and/or a punch hole. Another outer surface is provided with microporous, mesoporous and/or macroporous and/or electrically conductive material, which is transmissive for a part of contaminations separated from a flow of gas (7) supplied through a flow path, where direct voltage larger than breakdown voltage is applied between the electrode and an emission electrode (11) for formation of a stable low energy plasma. The material comprises a lattice (25), a braided fabric, a rolled material, a sintered material, a foam-like material and/or a perforated wall. An independent claim is also included for a device for separating liquid and/or particulate contaminations from a gas stream exiting a crank case of a combustion engine.
