Apparatus comprises (a) a mechanical cleaning station for separating non-organic contaminants, (b) at least one container with an anaerobic environment for decomposing organic residues, and for compressing the effluent (A01) to sludge, (c) an anaerobic reactor for the sludge for further decomposition of organic residues, (d) a device (B07) for separating the sludge to a solid portion and a liquid portion, (e) a bioreactor with an algae culture, using which the liquid portion is processed in the flow-through method, and (f) discharge lines for removing different products from the bioreactor. An independent claim is also included for processing effluents, comprising: mechanically cleaning the effluents to separate non-organic contaminants; generating an anaerobic atmosphere in at least one container with decomposition of organic residues; compressing the effluents to sludge; introducing the sludge into the anaerobic reactor, in which a further decomposition of organic residues is carried out; separating the slurry to the solid portion and the liquid portion; adding the liquid fraction into the continuously operating bioreactor having the algae culture, in the flow-through method; and removing the different products from the bioreactor.
