Producing filter material, comprises (a) producing textile material (1) comprising electrically conductive fibers (5) and electrically non-conductive fibers (6), (b) pushing back and/or shortening the peripheral non-conductive fibers of the textile material such that conductive fibers protrudes, and (c) applying polymer-based coating (7), preferably a foam to the pushing back and/or shortened fibers such that conductive fibers of the textile material extends by the coating to the outer surface of the coating and/or the coating protrudes outwardly. An independent claim is also included for a filter material comprising the textile material, which is provided with the polymer-based coating, where the filter material comprises the electrically conductive fibers, which extend to the outer surface of the coating starting from the textile material through the coating and/or the coating protrudes outwardly.
