The method involves winding a first winding layer of a fiber (118) on a core (108). An initial winding angle for the first layer is selected such that a desired maximum winding angle is set during geodetic winding in a region of a minimum transverse extension of the core. A second winding layer and a third winding layer of the fiber are wound on the first layer of the fiber, where the initial winding angle for the second and third layers is formed smaller than that of the first and second layers. An auxiliary layer formed as a protective layer is provided between the layers. An independent claim is also included for a winding product.
