The vacuum cleaner has housing (1) that accommodates electrically driven suction blower and dust collecting chamber (4). The housing has handle (5) and suction port (8) for feeding air. The ends of suction tube (7) are connected to suction port and pipe (9) detachably fixed to the housing respectively. The handle is provided at an off-center rear portion of housing, so that center of gravity of cleaner is located between handle and suction port. A straight portion (10) of plugged pipe is fixed at an angle diagonally to a standing surface (11) supported on the housing.
