The clamping band (2) has one end-side band portion (3) and another end-side band portion (4), which are connected to each-other by using a clamping tool, where the band portions partially overlap in the connected state. The former band portion has a pre-assembly hook (6), a clamping hook (7) and a tool-engaging unit (8), which are arranged adjacent to each other in a circumferential direction of the clamping band. The latter band portion has another tool engaging unit (10) and a hook holder (12), into which the pre-assembly hook and the clamping hook are engaged. An independent claim is included for a mounting method for fastening a clamping band on an element by using a clamping tool.
