The valve (1) has a valve chamber (3) with an inlet (6) and an outlet (7), where a valve body (2) is arranged movably in the valve chamber. An end (10) together with a valve chamber inner wall (15) forms a pressurization chamber (26) for the valve body. Another end (11) hinders the flow of a fluid from inlet to outlet in an idle position of the valve body. A connection (5) is formed at the valve body or internally at the inner periphery of the valve chamber connects the inlet with the pressurization chamber. An independent claim is included for a positive displacement pump.
