The device comprises a hollow shaft (10), and a measuring element (20). The measuring element is arranged in an inner space of the hollow shaft, and is connected in a connecting region with the hollow shaft. A direct or indirect brazing connection (31, 32) is provided between the measuring element and an inner wall (12) of the hollow shaft into the connecting region. The brazing connection extends over an entire circumference of the inner wall of the hollow shaft. A spacer is arranged at the measuring element, and is brazed to the inner wall of the hollow shaft. The device comprises a hollow shaft (10), and a measuring element (20). The measuring element is arranged in an inner space of the hollow shaft, and is connected in a connecting region with the hollow shaft. A direct or indirect brazing connection (31, 32) is provided between the measuring element and an inner wall (12) of the hollow shaft into the connecting region. The brazing connection extends over an entire circumference of the inner wall of the hollow shaft. A spacer is arranged at the measuring element, and is brazed to the inner wall of the hollow shaft. The measuring element is partially arranged in a bearing bush (60) or in a mounting sleeve, where the bearing bush or the mounting sleeve is brazed to the inner wall of the hollow shaft. The hollow shaft is made of a hardened steel material, and is formed with an axial end and a widening unit (11). An independent claim is included for a method for transmitting a torque and measuring the transmitted torque.
