The device has a winding (4) made of an electrical conductive wire, where the winding is provided with two winding ends. A surface insulating strip hardened by heat is attached on sides of the winding, where the strip is shorter than circumference of the winding. The winding is wrapped on a winding carrier (1), where the winding is rectangular in shape. Winding end sections (2, 5) are arranged at the winding ends. Another surface insulating strip is attached at another opposed side of the winding. An independent claim is also included for a method for manufacturing a coil device.
