The device has a measuring device (10) aligned on an object i.e. airplane (2), and provided for detecting a distance pattern that comprises distances of two different points (26, 28) at the object to the measuring device. The measuring device detects the object in an area when a portion of the pattern remains constant temporally. The measuring device has radar sensors (12, 14) for detecting points having high backscattering power. The sensors comprise a heating element for heating transmission and/or receiving paths of the sensors, where the measuring device is arranged below a monitor (8). An independent claim is also included for a device for detecting an object.
