The suspension (1) has a wheel carrier (6) supporting a wheel (2) e.g. steerable wheel, and a shock absorber (11) i.e. telescopic shock absorber, with a lower end that is firmly connected with the wheel carrier. An upper end of the wheel carrier is connected with a vehicle structure (8) in a hinged manner. A support arm (7) is connected with the wheel carrier and the vehicle structure in a hinged manner. A spring (15) e.g. screw spring, comprises an upper end that is connected with the absorber in a hinged manner. A lower end of the spring is connected with the support arm in a hinged manner.
