The oral coil (1) has a radio frequency antenna system (2) that is provided with several radio frequency antennas (6). A shim system (3) is provided with several shim elements (7) for the homogenization of static magnetic field of a magnetic resonance imaging system. The radio frequency antenna system and the shim system are provided to form a structural unit. A mounting plate (14) is arranged in the shim system. The shim element is provided with a passive element which is made of iron, cobalt or nickel. Independent claims are included for the following: (1) a radio frequency receiver; (2) a magnetic resonance imaging system; and (3) a method for generating magnetic resonance image of jaw region of patient.
