The apparatus has an electronic device to which input voltage is supplied over a terminal (4) by an intermediate circuit capacitor (8). The electronic device comprises a motor-inverter-circuit and transforms electric power that is provided by the input voltage. An auxiliary power supply unit (10) is supplied with the input voltage and provides operation voltage for the electronic device. The power supply unit is connected with the capacitor over the terminal such that discharge of the capacitor is made by the power supply unit during disconnection of the terminal from the input voltage.
