The drum (1) has a drum unit arranged between two side walls (3, 7). Electric cables (5) are wound up on the drum unit. An input portion (5b) of each electrical cable is mounted inside the cable drum and supported in a balancing area. A winding space is arranged inside the cable drum for winding or unwinding a portion of the electrical cable. The balancing area and the winding space are found in two different planes. The electric cable is guided from outside to inner circumference of the balancing area through the side walls.
