The drive element (2) comprises a screw drive (4) comprising spindle nut (6) that is arranged on threaded spindle (5). A damping element (13) arranged in housing (3), is fixed to frame between machine unit and screw drive to attenuate axial shocks of threaded spindle or spindle nut. The damper element is provided with annular springs (15) which are arranged along spindle axis of threaded spindle. Each annular spring is provided with friction surfaces that are arranged next to each other. An independent claim is included for a brake booster.
