The pump device (1) has a pump housing (4) provided with a pump (3), and electric motor (2) provided with a motor housing (5). The electric motor is operatively connected with the pump housing for driving the pump. Units (14) have a sleeve (15) provided with axial retainer (17). The sleeve is arranged at a housing element (7') of the pump housing or motor housing. The sleeve extends in a retainer opening (16) that is formed in the motor housing and the pump housing. The sleeve is locked by an expansion element in the retainer opening in force-fit manner. The expansion element is suppressed in the axial retainer. An independent claim is included for a method for manufacturing a pump device.
