The dishwasher has a washing chamber (1) for receiving to-be-cleaned items. A collecting bowl (2) for rinsing water is arranged in the lower region of washing chamber. The collecting bowl is in fluid communication with a drain pump (3) and/or circulating pump (4). A liquor storage unit (5) for temporarily storing the wash liquor is connected to the bowl through a fluid line (6). A filter (7) for retaining impurities entrained in wash liquor is arranged in flow path of rinsing solution from the interior of bowl extended into interior of liquor storage unit through the fluid line. An independent claim is included for method for operating dishwasher.
