The shift fork has a base body (7) designed to radially overlap an axially adjacent gearwheel (3) towards a sliding collar (5), where the base body is axially projected over the gearwheel. A mounting- and guiding device (14) is formed on the axial end of the base body and is spaced from the side piece for incorporating a guide rod or a shift rod (12). The mounting- or guiding device is arranged to radially displace inwards with an axial distance (15) from the gearwheel. The base body is connected with the guide rod or the shift rod and the side pieces are arranged on the base body.
