The light emitting device (100,200) has a light module arrangement (116) that is located on surface of a carrier (104), for radiating light. A cover substrate (108) is arranged in spacing over carrier surface. A cavity (114) is defined between the carrier surface and turned surface of cover substrate. The cooling fluid (118,120) is filled in the cavity so that a light radiating surface of light module arrangement is located in contact with the cooling fluid. The cavity is provided to form a portion of a closed cooling circuit in which the cooling fluid is circulated.
