In the case of a process for the magnetic resonance (mr) - imaging, a magnetization in a plurality of preparation modules (21, 23, 31, 33) of a recording sequence (20) is prepared. Mr - signals are at least one image as a module (24, 26, 34, 36) is recorded. In the plurality of preparation modules (21, 23, 31, 33), the spoiler - gradient fields are generated, in order to act on a transverse magnetization. The spoiler - gradient moments of the spoiler - gradient fields are selected in such a way that for at least one of three orthogonal directions in space a weighted sum of the spoiler - gradient moments which are applied along this direction, a threshold condition is fulfilled.
