The arrangement has a control device (B) i.e. smartphone, detached from a field device (F) for operating the field device. The control device includes an access unit, which transmits data to a transponder (T) e.g. radio frequency identification (RFID) chip, and/or receives the data from the transponder. The transponder is provided at the field device. The field device includes another access unit for transmitting the data to the transponder and/or for receiving the data from the transponder. The transponder allows transfer of the data between the detached control device and the field device. The field device includes the access unit e.g. RFID reading unit and RFID writing unit. An independent claim is also included for a method for operating a field device of a process automation technique.
