The element (1) has a housing block (1a) comprising a surface (7), which includes holes (2a, 2b) for receiving pipes (4a, 4b). The holes comprise hole walls (2c, 2d), which comprise a set of recesses (5a, 5b) for receiving a connection agent i.e. adhesive agent. Another set of recesses is closed by a counter plate in an axial direction. A channel is in fluid communication with the former set of recesses of the holes for filling the former set of recesses with the connection agent. Sides of the former set of recesses are limited by a wall (8) and opened in a radial direction to the holes. An independent claim is also included for a method for connection of an expansion element with a pipe.
