The device (28) has a cylindrical sleeve (7) arranged between a hub of a traction unit wheel (13) and a rotor shaft (3) of an electric machine (2), where the hub accommodates the rotor shaft. The sleeve forms a positive connection with the rotor shaft for rotary driving of the wheel along a rotation direction. The rotor shaft comprises a screw thread that co-operates with a screw element (16) that pushes the wheel against a stopper on the rotor shaft. The hub rests on a portion (8) of the sleeve, where diameter of another portion (9) of the sleeve is larger than diameter of the former portion. An independent claim is also included for a driving apparatus. The screw element is designed as a screw or a nut. The screw thread is designed as an external screw thread.
