Method for determining distance between passenger car and e.g. potential obstruction, involves determining distance between marking features, and determining distance between vehicle and object based on number of features and distance
The method involves recognizing an object i.e. potential obstruction, and a number of road marking features between a vehicle (100) and the object using a recognition unit (120). A distance between the road marking features is determined, and a distance between the vehicle and the object is determined based on the recognized number of road marking features and the determined distance between the road marking features. A dimension of the road marking features extending in a traveling direction is determined during movement of the vehicle. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a device for determining a distance between a vehicle and an object (2) a computer program product comprising a set of instructions for executing a method for determining a distance between a vehicle and an object.
