The method involves determining an intersection region of a first road with a second road (420). An intersection name is assigned (430) to the intersection region, where the intersection name differs from names of the roads to determine the position indication. The intersection name is formed using the names of the roads, where the assigned intersection name is deposited in a digital road map. The determined intersection region is determined as a surface, and the intersection name is output (440) to an output device of a vehicle.
