The method involves inserting an insulating paper in a coil space of a body of a stator (10), where the coil space comprises a number of coil grooves. The grooves are limited by pole horns (16) and a stator wall. A wire (20) in a form of a coil (20a) is inserted into the coil space of the stator. The insulating paper is inserted into the grooves such that the insulating paper is partially and firmly bonded at the grooves during succeeding insertion of the wire. The insulating paper is coated with fixing agent that comprises adhesive, impregnating resin and baked lacquer. An independent claim is also included for a stator for an electric drive.
