The battery condition determining method involves determining value of one battery parameter by using ultrasonic measurement (1), where value of another battery parameter is determined by using additional measurements (2). A data record (3) is generated with the determined battery parameters values. The records of the determined values of the battery parameters with respect to the condition of the reference batteries are stored (6) in a database, where a reference data record searches (4) the closest match to the determined battery parameter values. Independent claims are included for the following: (1) a device for detecting the condition of a battery, particularly a lithium-ion battery; and (2) a computer program for performing a battery condition determining method.
