The method comprises partially processing a powder to a green body (10) in which non-powder particles are connected to each other and/or to the prepared green body using a high energy beam through sintering and/or melting, where the green body is finally compacted by hot isostatic pressing, and contains a closed porous structure. Particles are melted in a region of a sleeve when the remaining powder particles are sintered in a core. The powder particles are sintered or melted by different power of the high energy beam. The connecting step is carried out in a one or two stage process. The method comprises partially processing a powder to a green body (10) in which non-powder particles are connected to each other and/or to the prepared green body using a high energy beam through sintering and/or melting, where the green body is finally compacted by hot isostatic pressing, and contains a closed porous structure. Particles are melted in a region of a sleeve when the remaining powder particles are sintered in a core. The powder particles are sintered or melted by different power of the high energy beam. The connecting step is carried out in a one or two stage process performed by the high energy beam, where the powder particles are fused by heat treating the green body. The high energy beam is an electron beam or laser beam.
