The device has a feed roller (19) that is placed against a plate cylinder, for mounting the printing plate. An electromotor is arranged in the feed roller to generate controllable braking torque, such that braking torque applied from feed roller to printing plate is controllable based on specific characteristic stored in controller of printing machine. An independent claim is included for a method for mounting printing plate on plate cylinder of printing machine.
