The actuator (1) has a dimensionally stable base (2) for defining a chamber together with an elastic tensile membrane (8) that is moved relative to the base based on influence of actuating medium fed into the chamber. The membrane is secured to the base in a gas-tight manner and comprises an edge region (9) and an elastically deformable planar core region (14) that is surrounded by the edge region. An extending ring (10) is held between the edge region and the core region and comprises interlocking contours, and attachment elements are inserted into overlapping holes. The attachment elements are designed as plastic rivets or screws.
