One-piece hollow functional element (10) has a hollow structure (12) having two ends (14,16) with respect to a longitudinal axis. The rivets (20,22) are connected at two ends respectively. The ends of the hollow structure are surrounded by sheet metal contact surfaces (24,26) of rivets respectively. The rivet elements are arranged symmetrically with respect to a plane perpendicular to the longitudinal axis such that two rivets are identical.
