The method involves performing partial coating of adhesive on label web comprising labels surrounding matrix material and/or substrate sheet by adhesive application devices with hot melt adhesive. The label matrix components of laminate web are separated and the laminate web is cut into sections by separating device. The partial coating of adhesive on label web and/or substrate sheet relatively to the position of the labels on the mostly constant current label web is synchronized. The regions of matrix which are not portion of label are free of adhesive. The laminates of label web and substrate sheet are bonded between rollers under action of pressure. The contour of label is cut with a punching device or a laser cutting device. An independent claim is included for device for preparation of adhesive labels.
